Founded in March 2025 by Kai Bouhmad, Black Girls Shoot Too was born from a simple, powerful question: Where are all the Black women photographers in LA? What started as a moment of solitude behind the lens became a vibrant space for connection, visibility, and growth. Through immersive photo walks, skill-building workshops, and authentic storytelling, we’re creating a future where Black women are seen, celebrated, and supported in every frame.

To create a safe and inspiring space where Black women photographers can connect, collaborate, and elevate their artistry together.

Our space provides a sense of belonging, offering a platform for networking, mentorship, and collaboration, which can lead to increased visibility and professional opportunities.Black women photographers bring unique perspectives and stories that are often marginalized or overlooked. Here at BGST our aim is to amplifies these voices, ensuring their work is seen, valued, and contributes to a more diverse and representative visual landscape.
